We introduced the kids to Smores last week. Figuring they love all the ingredients seperately, we thought it would be a hit. The reception was luke warm. Aerin took one bite and said, "No, I just want the plain cracker. This one is too messy." Jack, was also unsure but on the other hand enjoyed the messiness. He ate all of his after stringing out all of the marshmallow with his fingers. Then he turns to me and says, " Mommy, you lick my fingers?"
Aerin found the stepstool in front of the water fountain at church last week which was quite amusing and went something like this: Step up to the top step, lean all the way in with face right in front of water spout, push big button in all the way with both hands. Shoot water into side of head. Step back. Look confused. Say aloud, "Let's try this again." Lean in, put face right in front, push button spray face. Step back , look confused. Lean in....... you get the picture. We had to finally stop her though she was very determined to figure it out herself and very serious nonetheless. It was quite funny to watch.
Tonight I was in the grocery store and I had both kids with me. We bought a multipack of sugar free popsicles that had regular popsicles, fudgesicles and creamsicles. The kids were studying the box trying to figure out which one they wanted to eat later. Being our resident chocoholic, Jack looks at the box and says, "I want black." He still gets some of his colors mixed up so I explain to him that a fudgesicle is not black but brown. So we later get to the checkout and the kids pick up the conversation about the popsicles again, except they were now not holding the box and did not say the word popsicle. Jack proceeds to say, "Mommy, you be black and I be red." I try to explain the color thing again but Aerin very loudly says, "No I want to be black! I said I want to be black!" The cashier and several people around us look. To which I again explain that fudgesicles are brown not black and that now we are now not having them any time soon!
