Check out the new pictures in the Summer Fun Photo Album!
All is well in the Crew household. Jason has finished his first week of work and still likes his job! He is enjoying a long holiday weekend after adjusting back to the corporate world. It was a rough week filled with free lunches and even an ice cream social. Poor baby! Seriously, he did have a full week of meetings and getting oriented with his projects. He likes his boss and the scope of his project. He may even get to do some traveling. He only has one more week before he heads to New York for 2 weeks of ECLP training.
The kids are also doing well. Aerin has officially given up her nap. After several days of nap struggles followed by a night time ritual in which she decided that 9:15 was her bedtime instead of 8:00, we decided that something had to change. So for the last 3 days, she has skipped her nap and proceeded to fall asleep within five minutes or less and all with no meltdowns in the afternoon or evening. I just can't believe she is growing up so fast.
The new favorite show in our house is Hi-5 on TLC (http://kids.discovery.com/fansites/readysetlearn/hifive/hifive.html). It has even surpassed Dora. I think we all have the songs stuck in our head. It's a cute show, though.
We went exploring around the apartment complex yesterday and discovered some cool walking bridges, waterfalls and trails. The kids discovered the difference between ducks and Canadian geese. Needless to say we fed the ducks and very carefully avoided the geese.
On a final note,we figured out the quarter cart thing at Biggs Hypermarket that I mentioned in my last post. Evidently you get your quarter back after you return the cart and hook it to the cart line. It turns out it is a cool system that gives you incentive to return your cart so there are less cart collisions with cars. We had new neighbors move in next door, a young couple who seem very nice. We still haven't found any Chinese take-out restaurants. We've found a Methodist church that we all like, the kids are especially partial to the live pet turtle and the astro-turf on the playground. Jason is partial to the Starbucks coffee. We all like the contemporary service music. Tomorrow we are headed on our first road trip since moving. We are going to Columbus, OH for a couple of days to visit one of Jason's best friends from Duke who lives there.
That about wraps it up for now. I apologize for not having more to report on. I guess in a way it is nice to just have normal things going on.
