We have been battling colds around here this week which has put a damper on the little one's moods. So no big story to report although I do have some random things that have been heard or thought around the Crew house this week.
Jack has created a new word for a merry-go-round/carousel. His new creation: mer-a-sel.
In case you haven't heard, our kids are deathly afraid of car washes. The first time we went through one, Aerin sat wide-eyed, whining the whole time. Jack just out right cried. As we were pulling out, Aerin turns and looks over her shoulder back at the car wash with fear in her eyes and says, "Wooo, that was close!" So today on our way to the library, we passed the local carwash and I jokingly said, "Would you like to go to the carwash?" Jack immediately says, "No! I want to go to the library instead!" Instead is his new word which is pretty good for a 25 month old.
Earlier today, the kids were playing and I was preparing lunch. Aerin was waiting on Jason to come down to join us and kept asking me when he was coming. I knew he was busy so it surprised me when I heard her say, "Hi Daddy!" I had not heard him come down the stairs yet so I looked at Aerin who was holding her hand to her head like a phone and she says, "Oh, I was talking to Daddy on my hand."
Yesterday, Jack tried a different approach to talking to Jason while he was upstairs in his office. He picked up the baby monitor and yelled into it, "Hello? Daddy?" Proceeding to then hold it up to his ear and listen for a response which he never got. Poor little guy.
We are a little confused on our holidays right now. Jack begged to rent the Wiggles Christmas DVD and Aerin had to watch Dora's Halloween. Hopefully we'll get to celebrate Easter in there somewhere.
The sounds in our house are always interesting. For some reason, there is never any true silence. Today I was laying on the sofa with Aerin trying to get her to settle down and take a nap. It seemed quiet enough with no TV or music and no one talking. However, my stomach kept making noises and being the polite little girl she is, Aerin had to keep saying "excuse you" everytime a gurgling sound was made. In between the politeness, Jack could be heard coughing on the baby monitor to which Ellie kept growling thinking someone was outside. The amazing thing is that Aerin actually fell asleep in the midst of it all.
When Jack was going down for his nap, Jason handed him Red Bear (his lovey). Jack grabbed him and said, "Red Bear loves me! Give me a kiss, Red Bear!"
Those are the random thoughts from the House of Crew. Bye for now!
